The music hall mmf-7.1 turntable is a completely updated table for 2008. A Completely isolated/decoupled AC motor with two-speed (33/45rpm) pulley set in the front left corner of the turntable eliminates vibration from the belt to the cartridge, resulting in a quieter background. The 7.1 designed around the unique dual-plinth construction originated by Music Hall, which helps isolate the the mechanical components and results in lower background noise. This design isolates the critical sound reproducing components (platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge which are attached to the top platform) from the motor, switch, wiring, and feet which are mounted on the bottom platform.
Viso-elastic cones separate the two platforms and provide vibration damping between these two plinths. Adjustable spiked cone feet (with anti-scratch cups also included) allow precise leveling of the table for the best tracking and it is easy to do with the built in level. The 7.1 comes with the top of the line carbon fiber tonearm and a Goldring Eroica H ($450 value) high-output moving-coil cartridge with Gyger II line contact stylus.
This is one of the best buys in vinyl! A screw on record clamp, dust cover, 45 adapter and a set of Music Hall interconnects, are all included at no extra charge. All you need to do is set the table on a flat surface, level it with the built in level, plug it in, and you are ready to playl!
