When electricity is passed through a cable, that cable generates an electro-magnetic field around itself. Steel is a very easy material to magnetize. In fact all you have to do is to pass current through it or around it using some wire and a power supply. (Remember the electromagnet experiment in school with some wire, a battery, and a steel bolt? Same thing, different application.) What's the big deal? As your power passes through these 6 magnets (3 on each end of the cable), theise magnetic fields are injecting noise into your cable. Noise you can hear at your speakers. Bad news!
